Using a strengths-based approach, the PEERS program supports young people to build meaningful lives within their communities and support greater physical, mental and social wellbeing, all while having a whole lot of fun
The management team has a wealth of sector knowledge and experience.

Join our team and empower young people (16+) with disabilities to grow, connect, and thrive in a supportive and fun environment.About the roleThis role is based in Whangaparaoa.The hours are Mondays 9.00am - 3.30pm, during school terms, with some opportunities for more hours.Training can start ASAP.You will work closely with one co-facilitator, each leading one of two activity sessions per day.You will have access to a senior staff member for support.You will be working with young people aged 16+ of various abilities.Start: ASAPYou and your co-facilitator will share the following responsibilities:Co-designing a term-by-term programme with our young people, that builds capacity and supports them in achieving their goals.Facilitating the programme in a way that is inclusive and accessible to all abilities.Communicating and building rapport with our members and their whanau.Organising equipment needed for activities, and two outings per term.Supporting members in contributing to maintaining the tidiness of our space.About youYou demonstrate an understanding and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
You enjoy working in a small team and have a desire to maintain an inclusive, non-discriminatory and multi-cultural environment.
You also:Enjoy working with young people aged 16+ of various abilities.Can lead activities that are fun and engaging, while prioritising safety of members.Want to help people learn life skills and achieve their goals.Like to get involved in all activities and have funQualifications & experienceCurrent First Aid certificate (preferred).Current Drivers License (preferred).Work experience in youth, disability, or teaching would be a benefit.Experience working with diverse groups of people would be a benefit.Interest in music or visual arts would be a benefit.Experience is preferred but not necessary.
