Job Description The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the auditing and verification of day to day operations with the overall goal of ensuring all legal, customer and international certification requirements are met.
This role will also support improvement of Jack Link's quality systems through the identification and promotion of systems use and data analysis.
List of responsibilities as outlined below: RMP Compliance Management Closely Work with Crew leaders and Area Managers to improve quality and food safety.
Review and improve quality documents to enable best utilization of quality systems.
Control of current/obsolete documents throughout the quality and production department.
Document and SOP review.
Timely updating of specs with material or specification changes.
Assisting with the development of training materials.
Accurate and timely reporting to FSQ Manager.
Daily verifications and scheduled audits.
Retention of all export licenses.
Maintain PBV Level 5.
Maintain high scores for all external audits conducted by third parties.
Complete specific daily checks as defined in each area specific task lists.
Ensure plant is compliant with existing and keeps abreast of any changes in the OMAR of all markets JLNZ currently exports to.
To verify all JL production, meet the CCP requirements of Jack Links Risk Management Program, ensuring substandard product is held for re-processing / withheld from sale.  Document and control breaches in Product Food Safety and quality.
Quality Assurance/Product Quality To conduct all the required daily quality checks and verifications such as, GMP inspections, Hygiene practices Operation practice.
To conduct required audits as scheduled.
To assist Technical and FSQ Manager in projects aimed at enhancing quality program.
Manage of processing control standards development to ensure these remain effective in meeting required product quality outcomes.
Data entry and analysis as required.
Ensure daily review and verification of all departments by means of walkthrough of production areas as a GMP health check.
Performance review of operation departments and score.
Research & Development To assist R&D team members with production Trials when requested.
To assist with implementation of key initiatives working with Technical Department.
External Auditing & License Management Accompany MPI VA for MPI regulatory visit of the RMP.
Apply CAR for any identified non-conformance and conduct root cause analysis with aim to prevent of reoccurring.
Organize cover for any lapses in inspection service cover.
Be available for external audits if requires.
Sanitation Review Regularly audit and review Sanitation performance and Preoperational inspection.
Review and report sanitation trends and performance to FSQ manager.
Initiate corrective action and preventative solutions to identified issues.
  Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Food Science.
 Knowledge regarding SOP maintenance.
 Knowledge of OMAR – desired.
Good knowledge of Government Legislative requirements and international standards.
Good technical knowledge of the Food (Meat) Industry - Desired Minimum 5 years in a quality related role.
SQF, AIB, BRC, Halal knowledge – desired.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Organization and time management skills.
Communication skills.
Problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to meet deadlines.
