The goal is to unlock the full potential in each colleague – empowering our people to grow as insurance professionals and add more value to our customers and AIG.How you will create an impactAn Underwriter in the Commercial Financial Lines and Casualty team actively contributes towards a portfolio of insurance through new business and renewal opportunities. The portfolio encompasses Directors and Officers Management Liability, Professional Indemnity, Cyber, Not for Profit liability packages and Casualty including General Liability. In this role you'll be reporting to the National Manager of the Commercial Financial Lines team. You can develop your technical knowledge of our products, hone your relationship management and portfolio analysis skills all while challenging your problem-solving logic. It is a great space for a motivated, proactive and socially minded market-facing individual to grow.Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:Developing and executing strategies for the Financial Lines and Casualty products to ensure targets are met through sustainable underwriting.Underwriting Financial Lines and Casualty business including new and renewal business within authorities granted and in accordance with profit centre guidelines.Establishing and maintaining strong customer/industry relationships across New Zealand including Broker relationships at all levels with indigenous and international broking firms.Adapting to regulatory changes including product innovation and increasing AIG's profile through market leadership.Working with Financial Lines PCM, Team Leaders and Regional Line Managers to ensure that strategies are developed and executed.Developing and improving systems and processes.What you'll need to succeedAbility to underwrite full liability package for midmarket to corporate accounts.Risk analysis and pricing.Product distribution.Product & market knowledge.Dealing with ambiguity.Drive for results.Problem solving.Critical thinking.Collaboration.Business acumen.Presentation skills.Relationship management.Experience in Cyber Underwriting is a plus.Ready to step up to new challenges?
