Your role will involve a mix of office and field-based work, focusing on proactive and reactive biosecurity measures.
You'll lead the planning, facilitation, and delivery of Environment Canterbury's Biosecurity work programme, including the implementation of the Regional Pest Management Plan and specialised local programmes.
Your responsibilities will include education, surveillance, pest control, investigation, and risk pathway management.You'll play a crucial role in protecting agricultural production values, ensuring the health and sustainability of our farming systems.
Your passion for terrestrial native biodiversity will drive efforts to safeguard our unique ecosystems from the threat of exotic plants and pests.We have two vacancies available.More About The RoleIdentify process improvement opportunities and resolve complex issues.Uphold biosecurity compliance with regulations and regional rules.Develop and deliver technical and customer service training to staff.Assess infestations, cost control operations, engage contractors, and carry out control measures.Report writing and feedback production.Establish and maintain regional and strategic networks and relationships.Protect agricultural production values by managing biosecurity threats.Promote and enhance terrestrial native biodiversity.Address the threat of exotic plants and pests through effective management strategies.Mou ¦ About YouIdeally, you'll be tertiary qualified or be able to demonstrate appropriate level of knowledge and skills in lieu of the tertiary qualification.
