About the Role We require a Clinical Midwifery Manager (CMM) for a part-time fixed term role to cover parental leave.
The requirement is for 12-hour rotating shifts.
This position will work across the floor - both in birthing suite and 4 North Maternity.
The Clinical Midwife Manager (CMM) role is a critical supporting leadership role.
The CMM will be expected to provide leadership and senior clinical midwifery support to the Midwife Manager and the midwifery team in the implementation of organisational initiatives and day-to-day management of all midwifery areas (people, process, and physical resources) to ensure a safe patient journey within the area of responsibility.
This position requires clinical expertise, a minimum of 5 years midwifery practice across the full scope of midwifery practice in the primary, secondary & tertiary setting.
The successful applicant will have outstanding communication & interpersonal skills, be able to coordinate people and resources ensuring the safe and effective care for women and babies, along with the ability to respond to all emergencies, anticipate potential problems and formulate solutions.
You will need to be on the leadership level for QLP or a confident midwife working towards leadership.
Duties Work across the midwifery scopeRostered and rotating shiftsHolistic care of whanau and their babiesCollaboration with the multidisciplinary teamAbout the Team/Service/Location Wellington Hospital Maternity Unit is a modern, purpose-built, busy unit catering for the needs of women and their whanau.
There are 12 self-contained, fully equipped labour and birthing rooms, and an operative theatre onsite.
The antenatal and postnatal ward has 26 resourced beds.
The team includes midwives, obstetric medical doctors, anaesthetists, healthcare assistants, administration officers and cleaners.
In our fast-paced environment we have to work closely together to get the best results for those we are caring for.
About You The successful applicant will need to be registered with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and have a current APC.
It would be advantageous to have:
Master's Degree in Midwifery or evidence of working towards Master's Degree in MidwiferyCertificate in Clinical Teaching would be an advantageExperience across the scope of midwifery; LMC experience would be an advantageExperience in a leadership positionOn the quality leadership programme at leadership level or prepared to attain within 6 monthsWorking at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the weaving of wellness.
