You will join our North Shore multidisciplinary team who deliver care that promotes quality of life.
You'll enjoy working both in the community and in our completely redeveloped, state of the art inpatient unit.Your responsibilities will include:Managing complex cases and follow-upSupporting and collaborating with GPs, Aged Residential Care and other specialist providersEducating colleagues and external stakeholders and advocating for hospice careContributing to best practice processes improvement and governanceCoaching and mentoring other medical staffBeing active with research and developing and leading new projectsYou have expert knowledge in palliative care gained in either a hospice or hospital setting.
You understand the unpredictable demands of palliative care and you're ready to adapt to them.
An advocate for quality end-of-life care, you engender trust and respect and demonstrate cultural awareness with sound knowledge of Tikanga Maori.You will demonstrate:Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (or equivalent)Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate or ability to achieve thisTrained in principles of evidence-based medicineA collaborative and compassionate working styleAn interest in supervising and mentoring staff and your own professional developmentHarbour Hospice is one of the largest hospices in Aotearoa and has been caring for turoro (patients) and their family and whanau for more than 40 years.
Every day we care for close to 400 people across the North Shore, Hibiscus Coast and Warkworth/Wellsford regions, supporting them at home, in one of our two inpatient units, or in community programmes offered at each of our three sites.
Our specialist services, given free of charge, include medical care, spiritual, cultural, psychological and social support, physiotherapy, occupational and complementary therapy, social activities and more.
