Palliative Medicine Specialist Doctor

Espirita are looking for a **Palliative Medicine Specialist Doctor** to relocate to join a Hospice on the North Island, New Zealand.
As a **Palliative Medicine Specialist**, you'll play a crucial role within a skilled and collaborative multidisciplinary team. Your focus will be on patient-centered, holistic care, and you'll have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement. Your well-being is prioritised and you will be encouraged to lead a healthy work-life balance.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Managing complex cases and follow-up
- Supporting and collaborating with GPs, Aged Residential Care and other specialist providers
- Educating colleagues and external stakeholders and advocating for hospice care
- Contributing to best practice processes improvement and governance
- Coaching and mentoring other medical staff
- Being active with research and developing and leading new projects
You will be someone who has expert knowledge in palliative care gained in either a hospice or hospital setting, understand the unpredictable demands of palliative care and be ready to adapt to them. As an advocate for quality end-of-life care, you will engender trust and respect and demonstrate cultural awareness with sound knowledge of Tikanga Māori.
**In order to be considered for this role you must demonstrate**:
- Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (or equivalent)
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate or ability to achieve this
- Trained in principles of evidence-based medicine
- A collaborative and compassionate working style
- An interest in supervising and mentoring staff and your own professional development
