We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Officer to support our Personal Banking division reporting to our Specialist Compliance Lead.

Te turanga | The role:

As a Compliance Officer, you will:

* Provide core compliance analysis, Risk system administration/updates and reporting to support your colleagues and management to better identify, assess, manage, and mitigate compliance risk and related compliance activities including supporting Compliance Self Assessments and attestations.
* Use my strong working knowledge across core risk and compliance management activities and systems including incident and issue management, root cause analysis, control capture and assessments, Control Assurance, Risk In Change, compliance monitoring and reporting.
* Assist with providing advice and assurance to PB business units on compliance with obligations under law, regulation and internal ASB policies and manage compliance incidents and issues, primarily financial advice and CCCFA related.
* Assist with supporting PB business units in implementing compliance related projects and action plans.
* Provide ad hoc support to the Ho Specialist Banking Compliance and the broader Specialist Banking Compliance team.
* Develop my own capability on key areas of ASBs operational and compliance risk frameworks and core risk activities.

O pukenga | About you:

* 2+ years' experience in a corporate or professional services environment.
* Experience of compliance and regulatory frameworks and experience in the financial services industry will be viewed favourably.
* Previous RiskInsite experience desirable.
* Ability to compile and update clear, concise, and effective reports, and provide commentary on compliance related issues and incidents.
* Excellent written communication skills - able to translate complex information into appropriate forms and simple concise messages.
* Effective verbal communication - ability to liaise with all levels of organisation, disseminate key information and effectively convey requirements.
* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills - can identify issues, demonstrate sound problem-solving skills, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Strong prioritisation skills and ability to manage competing priorities
