Procurement Specialist - Indirect Procurement Westland Milk Products is a well-known New Zealand end-to-end dairy manufacturer based in the beautiful South Island with offices and production facilities based in both Christchurch and Hokitika.
Owned by the Global Top 5 dairy company Yili Group, Westland Milk Products and its related companies in New Zealand, Oceania Dairy (Glenavy), Pure Nutrition Ltd (Rolleston), Canary Foods (Hamilton) and EasiYo (Auckland) form a group that we refer to as the Yili Oceania Business Division (YOBD).
The combined business produces over 170,000mt of finished goods which are then exported to over 40 countries, driving annual revenue well in excess of $1.3B - and growing.
About the role: Based in Christchurch (Hornby) and reporting to the Head of Procurement, we are looking for a new Procurement Specialist to join our diverse and dedicated Procurement team.
With a focus on our group's indirect procurement portfolio, this role will support the business in effective procurement practices through ensuring cost effective processes and outputs, increasing transparency and visibility and ultimately driving savings and sustainable outcomes for the group.
Your key responsibilities: Support the business with effective procurement practices in indirect procurement Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies to facilitate best indirect procurement practices in conjunction with procurement policy Work with key business stakeholders and internal customers on facilitating procurement requirements End to end sourcing/procurement, establishing and documenting business requirements The facilitation and completion of RFx / tender processes, documentation and contract negotiations to managing suppliers Continual focus on globally sustainable procurement practices and corporate social responsibility Our successful applicant will likely possess: Previous proven experience in a similar Procurement Specialist role ideally supported by a relevant tertiary qualification e.g.
commercial or supply chain management degree or CIPS.
Experience in either a manufacturing or food production environment would be advantageous Strong attention to detail and well-developed commercial acumen Well-developed facilitation and negotiation skills The ability to exercise good judgement and display sound decision-making skills An analytical and logical approach Exceptional communication and relationship management skills and the ability to build strong relationships across the business A strong Procurement Process background What's in it for you?
