Te tunga | The role This is a permanent role based in Wellington reporting to the Senior Manager Finance Business Advisory.
In your role as Senior Management Accountant, you will provide support to your business groups working closely with the Finance Business Partner and in partnership with the wider Prioritisation, Resources and Delivery Group.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team as the organisation embarks on an exciting transformation of how it operates. As our organisation evolves, we need a forward-thinking professional who can adapt quickly, provide insightful financial analysis, and support key decision-making through this transformation.
There are several key accountabilities in this role, including:
Building relationships and a deep understanding of the portfolio to deliver trusted, valued, forward-looking and proactive financial adviceProviding quality management advice, budgeting and forecasting support to managersTranslating business plans into financial plans and delivering high quality, valued analysis and sound adviceUnderstanding the cost of delivering products and services and performing detailed analysis on options, including long term impacts to the businessProviding support for detailed costings and analysis for strategic planning, Budget Bids, Cabinet papers and business casesUndertaking analysis that identifies key risks and opportunitiesContributing to the provision of advice on technical accounting issues including Public Finance ActMinimum Requirements: Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce or BusinessProven experience in business facing senior management accounting rolesStrong written and verbal communication and presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex messages clearly, simply and conciselyThe ability to build relationships and manage diverse stakeholder interests, and to confidently engage with a wide range of individuals and groupsExposure to financial modelling and complex financial analysisMe pehea te tuku tono| How to apply If this sounds like you, click on the Apply now button to be redirected to the application page on our careers site.
