If so we are looking for an Occupational Therapist | Kaiwhakaora Ngangahau to join our team.Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleThis position can be based at either Thames Hospital or Waihi Community base.
In this role you will provide Occupational Therapy services to clients within their home environment and occasionally on the Thames Hospital inpatient ward.
Manage your own caseload and waitlist and have a level of autonomy.
You will be collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and work alongside Physiotherapists, Social work and Allied Health Assistants.
Ideally candidates will be Enable housing and wheelchair level 1 accredited, however training will be provided for the successful candidate if required.About the TeamAllied Health is a department of the Waikato District that provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetic, Audiology & New Born Hearing screening, Social Work, and Psychology services.
Staff within these professions are all involved in direct client care and work in a wide range of situations to improve the health and wellbeing of the people they work with.
Allied Health staff work in partnership with individuals and their family/whanau to facilitate relationships and a smooth journey through the healthcare system.Skills and experience you'll need to be considered for the role:At least 12 months post qualification experience and ideally experience with the Ministry of Health funding process, however will consider new graduate OTsSound clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practiceEffective time management, prioritisation and organisation skillsAbility to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary settingHow to ApplyPlease click 'Apply online' or apply via our Waikato Careers Website.
