We make significant improvements to the lives of animals by challenging cruel practices, changing attitudes and fostering compassion so that they are no longer exploited or abused by humans.SAFE is seeking a candidate with a strong background in animal health and welfare science, with the ability to contribute to the development of government policies.
This role requires a deep understanding of scientific research and data related to animal health and welfare, combined with the ability to communicate effectively with government agencies, policymakers, and stakeholders to shape policies that promote the welfare and rights of animals.

Key Responsibilities include:Develop, coordinate, and execute campaign strategies across multiple programs and projects.Oversee campaign operations, including project planning, analysis, tactics, and evaluation.Stay updated on political and regulatory developments to ensure targeted planning and tactics.Support the development and implementation of campaign strategies through research.File submissions and Official Information Act requests when necessary.Provide support to SAFE staff, including fact-checking and advice.Produce media content for communication channels in collaboration with the Head of Campaigns.Build effective relationships with government officials, industry representatives, and media personnel.Represent SAFE as a spokesperson when required.Manage campaign equipment, consumables, and general administration tasks.Qualifications and Experience:Relevant tertiary qualification.Knowledge and genuine interest in animal welfare and rights.Demonstrated commitment to the goals and objectives of SAFE.Advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Genuine interest in animal rights and welfare advocacy.Must be committed to a vegan lifestyle.Competency Specification:Collaboration and teamwork.Persuasion and negotiation.If you are passionate about animal welfare, have a proven track record in campaign management, and possess the required qualifications, we invite you to apply for the Campaigns Manager position at SAFE.Application deadline: 19 January 2025, 5 PMSubmit your resume and a cover letter addressing the key responsibilities and qualifications via Seek or through our portal: https://safe.bamboohr.com/careers/52Your application will include the following questions:How many years' experience do you have as a Campaign Manager?Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How much notice are you required to give your current employer?Could you please share whether you currently align with a vegan lifestyle?
