With the incredible support of volunteers and field staff, to date we have planted more than 1.3 million native trees, cleared 455 hectares of invasive weeds and 120,000 kg of rubbish.

We are looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic and hardworking Conservation Officer to join our Wellington team.The Conservation Officer is responsible for assisting with the promotion and coordination of volunteer engagement within the region, and leading practical conservation activities.
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience within the volunteer sector combined with experience in program administration and delivery.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills coupled with demonstrated time management and problem-solving skills will be highly regarded.
You will also have strong computer skills with the ability to use a variety of programs.
You will have an interest in practical conservation activities from recruitment through to on-site delivery as needed.Job Type: Full-time, Permanent roleLocation: WellingtonHours: 38 hours (5 days) per weekSalary: $55-$60,000 pa.Essential Qualifications & ExperienceThe ability to seek out and inspire people to volunteer, and to encourage their commitment to Conservation VolunteersEffective communication and interpersonal skills across verbal, written and public presentationsProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OutlookDemonstrated capacity for providing good customer serviceFull Drivers LicenceDefensive Driving certificate obtained within the last five yearsCurrent Provide First Aid certificate or approved equivalentOccupational Health and Safety Level 3Ministry of Justice Check or Working with Vulnerable People CheckThe above qualifications are required before leading teams.
