Functioning out ofthe Hillmorton Hospital Adult Community Teams site the Clinical Nurse Specialist willbe working across the North and West cluster leading the implementation and operationalisation of the SMHS Equally Well plan.
About YouThisfull time role offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and motivatedindividual who is looking to expand their career pathway to take on a clinicalleadership role.
You will be an expert at developing and extending nursingpractices.
You will have a sound understanding of the physical health inequityexperienced by people living with mental illness and addiction.
You willhave well-developed practical skills in physical health assessments, nursinginterventions and health education.
This role requires clinical expertise andthe ability to mentor and develop clinicians ability to improve physical healthoutcomes for Tangata Whaiora.
As a dynamic go-getter you will be workingautonomously as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
You will actively seekopportunities to collaborate and partner with primary health care allies andfacilitate primary health care relationships and services for Tangata Whaioraunder SMHS care.Thisjob requires: * A Registered Nurse who is passionate about providing specialised care, and a passion for physical health equality for all consumers * Experienced, Nurse, Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC - must include scope for Mental Health Nursing * Adhere to guidelines of Cultural Safety and the Treaty of Waitangi * Motivated and flexible self-starter with the ability to work both in a team and autonomously * Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills * Expert clinical nursing knowledge and leadership ability * Extensive experience working within specialist mental health is essential - you will hold a relevant post graduate qualification, and have a least three years post graduate experience in mental health.
* The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused.
