Manager Data Strategy and Operational ProductsOur client is seeking a Manager Data Strategy and Operational Products to drive their data product strategy. This role is pivotal in understanding how data can influence better decisions, particularly in a frontline context. The successful candidate will ensure products are tailored to support operational decisions, with a focus on simplicity, consistency, and sustainability of development. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a team that shares insights across the organisation, making data approachable and supportive of better decision-making every day.What you'll do:As a Manager for Data Strategy and Operational Products, your primary responsibility will be developing and driving our client's data product strategy. You will understand how data can drive better decisions, particularly in a front-line context, ensuring products are tailored to support those operational decisions. Your expertise in software development lifecycles will be crucial in delivering a data product that is responsive to specific user circumstances. You will also manage resources, relationships, systems, and processes necessary for effective management and quality of work areas.Provide leadership to the team and clarify roles and responsibilities for delivery of the work programmeParticipate in and support strategic management within the insights teamEnsure compliance with financial management systemsUnderstand how data products support performance ecosystemsInnovate in data presentation and coach a team in user experience and interface designWork closely with the data warehousing team to prioritise and direct development of data modelsDevelop a plan to build the capability of staff to meet current and future goalsManage relationships in support of the team's role and contribution to the work of the insights teamWhat you bring:As the ideal candidate for the Manager for Data Strategy and Operational Products position, you bring comprehensive technical knowledge of IT systems, channels, and data structures. Your proven track record in managing complex multi-project programmes of work demonstrates your ability to deliver output that meets client needs. Your experience in analysing business and market data as well as public sector data will be invaluable in this role. Your leadership skills, coupled with your ability to motivate, direct, and sustain team working, will ensure the success of your team.Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent operational experienceComprehensive technical knowledge of IT systems, channels, and data structuresProven experience in managing complex multi-project programmes of workExperience in analysis of business and market data and public sector dataExperience in staff leadership with ability to monitor, review, and improve team's expertiseAbility to motivate, direct, and sustain team workingGood understanding of policy development process, parliamentary processes, and workings of legislationWhat sets this organisation apart:Our client is committed to helping New Zealanders be safe, strong, and independent.
