Contract services include providing the maintenance, equipment, and labour to complete the job.Harsco Rail offers contract services for Rail Grinding and has been grinding rail for over 50 years, covering more than 300,000 km (192,000 miles) in the last 7 years.Job DescriptionJOB PURPOSECarry out scheduled maintenance and repairs on the Stoneblower FleetQualificationsPERSONAL ATTRIBUTES/COMPETENCIESCompetencyQualifications & ExperienceIs likely to be time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline, or preferred recognised qualification as a mechanical / electrical / maintenance engineerTechnical SkillsKnowledge & understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, electronic, fault finding & repairIT literate including basic knowledge of Microsoft systemsCalibration & understanding of rail plant operatingCompetent in current maintenance standardsBehavioursAble to develop working relationships internally and externallyAdheres to deadlinesTeamworkTime managementAdditional InformationKEY RESULT AREASComplete machine VMI in a timely mannerServicing and minor repairs completed within required timeframePerformance of machine following daily maintenanceCondition of machineTimely ordering of parts / equipment5S within depotComplete administration tasks in a timely mannerSubmission of completed maintenance documentationQuality of maintenance documentationRESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIESReport any defects found on machine & carry out repairs within required competency level for the role or under instruction from field service engineer or supervisorEnsure planned maintenance duties are completed in line with company policies & procedures & work instructionsEnsure working environment is maintained as required by 5SInform supervisor of any issues / problems in a timely manner, which are outside your remit of controlOperate machine for maintenance purposes, as requiredEnsure regularly updated & compliant with company policies & proceduresAwareness of company communication via notice boardsBe responsible for the care of company assetsTo undertake training as requiredEnsure compliance with competence assessment systemsComply with the Company Code of ConductHEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIESTo take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by your acts and omissions at workComply with all Statutory and Company Policies, Procedures and StandardsInform your line manager, supervisor or health and safety representative of any unsafe occurrencesImplement and comply with company standards and procedures relevant to the undertaking of Stoneblower MaintenanceOnly undertake work for which you have been trained and (if required) certified competentTo comply with Risk Assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.Maintain and utilise all PPE provided by the employerCo-operate with your employer on health, safety and environmentMake safe any unsafe conditions where practical and challenge unsafe work practicesReport all, and assist with investigating relevant accidents, incidents, and near missesDIMENSIONSComplete daily, weekly & some 1,3,6 monthly maintenance tasks inclusive of minor repairs on the Stoneblower fleetManage fuel/stone deliveries and waste collections
