The Process Engineer at Oceania Dairy is responsible for overseeing and optimising complex technical processes involved in the production of our product mix. This role requires advanced knowledge of engineering principles, process design, and production optimisation to ensure the efficient, safe, and high-quality operation of the plant. The Process Engineer will identify and implement improvements to complex systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure that production processes are running at optimal capacity while adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and quality assurance, to resolve process inefficiencies, improve product consistency, and enhance production yields. By applying technical expertise to our processes and systems, the Process Engineer plays a key role in supporting the plant's long-term sustainability and operational excellence.In the role of Process Engineer, you will be responsible for (not limited to):Provide support and solutions for process issues and exceptions in plant operations.Lead research and development of new or improved processes and technologies.Collaborate with operations team to identify and implement operational improvements.Offer process engineering support to all teams, including production and automation (PLC changes and FD development/amendments).Support capital projects with process engineering, from design to commissioning.Ensure plant processes, including production and cleaning, are running efficiently and identify areas for improvement.Identify opportunities for cost savings, including reducing chemical and water use, and improving loss measurement and control.The successful applicant will have:Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Chemical or Process).Knowledge of process improvement techniques and tools.Exposure to commercial risk management concepts as applied to technological situations.Fault finding and failure analysis skills in complex technological situations.Ability to build and maintain strong cross-departmental communications, consistent with Oceania Values.Why choose Oceania Dairy?State-of-the-art facilities.Free employee bus provided from Timaru and Oamaru to travel to site.Southern Cross Health Insurance.On-site gym, annual health checks, on-site physiotherapy, additional benefits.Employee Assistance Program.Oceania Dairy has a strong safety culture.Values lead organisation committed to the training and development of employees.Why wait - apply now?If you want to take the next step in your career, apply now.
