The Youth Forensic Service is dedicated to supporting the holistic well-being and rehabilitation of at-risk youth through evidence-based interventions and comprehensive mental health care.At Tū Māia, we recognise the critical role that clinical psychologists play in the assessment, treatment, and support of young people with complex challenges.
As a clinical psychologist-focused service, we prioritise the integration of psychological expertise into our programmes to address the multifaceted mental health needs of youth in forensic settings.By joining Tū Māia Youth Forensic Service as a Clinical Psychologist and Court Report Writer, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable youth, contribute to the development of innovative intervention strategies, and advocate for the mental health needs of young people within legal contexts.This is your next step.Tū Māia Regional Youth Forensics provides specialist assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for young people involved in the youth justice system.
We offer a supportive and collaborative environment where you'll work alongside a team of experienced Forensic psychologists, psychiatrists, and Allied Health professionals.Ka aha Koe | What you'll do: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including risk assessments for self-harm, harm to others, and vulnerability.
Develop and implement individualised treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, and behavioural strategies.
Prepare forensic reports, clearly communicating complex psychological concepts to legal professionals.
Build strong therapeutic relationships with young people, taking into account their developmental stage, cultural background, and individual experiences.
Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, nurse's occupational therapists, psychologists, lawyers, and law enforcement officers Work collaboratively with other professionals within the youth justice system.
Contribute to the ongoing development of our specialist service.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important SkillsYou will be a Registered Clinical Psychologist with a minimum of 2 years' experience in child and adolescent mental health service.You will have a strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
You will be experienced in conducting assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions.You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.You will be a team player with a commitment to collaboration.
