About the Role Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit is both challenging and highly specialized, requiring advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and the ability to provide compassionate care under intense pressure.
ICU nurses care for patients who are critically ill or injured, often dealing with life-threatening situations that require continuous monitoring and intervention.
The position will be permanent part-time or full-time.
For further details, please refer to the position description here About the Team/Service/ Location The Department of Critical Care Medicine comprises of a 26 bedded unit, catering to ICU and HDU patients.
The unit is state of the art and provides an excellent opportunity to work in a progressive and motivated environment with the latest technology.
We are a general adult ICU that covers the Northern region and cares for multiple patient types, including Liver transplant, major trauma, neurosurgical and vascular.
The medical and nursing teams are supportive, dynamic and flexible, working together to provide quality care to all patients within the Northern region.

You will have the ability to work autonomously, use initiative wisely and most importantly, be able to hit the ground running.
* Current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate * Previous experience in acute care or critical care is desirable.
* Intensive care qualification desirable, but not essential * Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills * Good level of computer literacy.
* A high degree of self-motivation, willingness, and self-responsibility to continually improve and remain current with nursing skills and knowledge.
* High levels of professionalism with an enthusiastic, proactive, flexible approach.
