About the role Nelson Marlborough is seeking a casual Audiologist, ideally with paediatric certification, to provide district-wide cover and support our growing service.
This is a great opportunity to work across a diverse caseload, supporting both adult and paediatric patients while ensuring timely access to essential hearing services across the region.
As a casual Audiologist, you will provide cover across the Nelson Marlborough region, working alongside a skilled and dedicated team.
With the increasing demand for audiology services due to the region's growing population, this role is vital in ensuring continuity of care and reducing wait times for patients.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive audiological assessments for both adults and children.Fit, program, and manage hearing aids and assistive listening devices.Provide rehabilitation, counselling, and support to patients and families.Work closely with ENT specialists, GPs, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care.If you're a skilled audiologist, particularly with paediatric expertise, and looking for a flexible, impactful role, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Team/Service/Location Nelson Marlborough's Audiology Service plays a critical role in diagnosing and managing hearing loss, improving communication and quality of life for individuals of all ages.
Our team currently includes three paediatric-certified audiologists, and we are looking for an experienced audiologist, who is currently certified in at least one of the three paediatric specialities to provide additional support.
This will help us maintain high-quality care for children and families in the region.
Skills and experience Clinical experience with both adults and children is highly desirable.Full membership (or eligibility) with the New Zealand Audiological Society (NZAS).Current certification (or eligibility) in at least one of the three paediatric specialities is highly desirable.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centred approach.Ability to work independently and adapt to different clinical settings.Willingness to travel across the Nelson Marlborough region as required.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New Zealand Health NZ is the weaving of wellnesses.
