The successful candidate will work within a compassionate and dedicated environment, providing community-based nursing support for individuals affected by cancer and their families.This role is 32 hours per week.Key Responsibilities:Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based information about cancer to patients, their families, health professionals, and the wider community.Provide community nursing support for people with recent primary or secondary cancer diagnoses and their supporters.Make detailed assessments of client and caregiver needs, offering timely support, guidance, and information.Offer support via telephone, in person, electronically, or by mail, ensuring quality service and care.Maintain cancer information resources and contribute to the development of educational materials.Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, health professionals, and external service providers to ensure effective care coordination.Work collaboratively with other departments and services, supporting the overall effectiveness of cancer care services.Essential Qualifications & Experience:Registered Nurse with at least two years of clinical experience (preferably in oncology/haematology and community nursing).Completion of or enrolment in relevant graduate or post-graduate studies in oncology/haematology nursing or related fields.Current Annual Practising Certificate from the Nursing Council of New Zealand.Full, valid New Zealand Driver Licence.Integrity: Upholds high ethical standards in professional conduct.Autonomy: Functions independently with excellent time management.Initiative: Demonstrates problem-solving skills and evaluates complex situations.Interpersonal Communication: Communicates effectively and builds strong relationships with clients and colleagues.Client Service: Understands and meets client needs with a professional, compassionate approach.Resilience: Effectively manages work-related challenges, pressures, and stress.This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families affected by cancer while working within a compassionate, collaborative team.
