Family Works Northern is a champion for children, providing professional counselling and social work in communities and schools and delivering programmes that bring about lasting change.
Our Te Hononga based service is seeking a part-time talented and experienced Social Worker or Counsellor to join their team. This exciting role will see you engage with children and their families and work with them towards achieving positive and lasting differences in their lives.
This role is 30 hours per week.
Minimum Requirements: A qualified Social Worker or Counsellor
Registered with the SWRB or NZAC
Familiar with strength-based practice principles
Competent in working with families affected by multiple issues including domestic violence and child abuse
Able to engage with families where signs of safety are an issue
A person who thrives in a busy multi-disciplinary team
Show exemplary professional practice
Have experience in, and can evidence effectively, working with Maori families
Have outstanding communication and people skills
Have excellent family support, assessment and counselling abilities.
