4.30pm Monday-FridayReports to: General ManagerManages: Production TeamPrimary Responsibilities:Plan, lead, manage, and evaluate New Zealand production, warehousing, and logistics to enhance customer experience, productivity, quality, and efficiency.Oversee production processes, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and adherence to quality and safety standards.Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce variation.Effectively lead and support the Production Team, fostering a high-performance culture through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.Promote a collaborative and safety-focused work environment, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and operational policies.Maintain a customer-centric approach, ensuring effective communication and service delivery.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):DIFOT (Delivery in Full on Time): Maintain 98% each month.Customer Satisfaction: Reduction in DWIT (Do What It Takes) issues logged.Increased productivity: Reduce lead times for seating, screens, and warehouse dispatch.Cost control & efficiency: Operate lean by refining costs and improving factory efficiency.ISO Standards Compliance: Ensure adherence to ISO requirements across seating, screens, and warehouse.Responsibilities & Duties:Operational & Strategic Leadership:Plan, organize, lead, manage, and evaluate the personnel and budget of the Factory team.Lead and manage production, warehousing and health & safety, achieving key metrics set by the General Manager.Oversee the supply chain to drive continuous improvement and enhance customer value (experience).Identify and manage supply chain risks, addressing both tactical and strategic issues.Process Management:Coordinate and manage the operations planning process, including production and on-time delivery.Supervise and adjust daily production schedules and duty assignments based on time and budget constraints.Oversee inwards goods, put-away, picking, assembly, and dispatch of all goods to ensure efficient workflow.Establish individual and team KPIs, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.Develop and implement new systems and best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce variation, and minimize service issues.Performance & People Management:Direct, coordinate, assign, monitor, and review the work of individuals in the Factory team.Develop, implement, and manage a core competency framework and personal development plans in conjunction with management.Lead recruitment, training, supervision, mentoring, and performance management of Production staff.Motivate, mentor, and coach the wider team while ensuring professional development.Foster a positive culture aligned with business values, promoting engagement across the team.Communicate company values and business goals, representing the organization to staff.Partner & Contractor Management:Ensure optimal freight management for efficiency by order, customer, destination, and cost.Manage contractor and subcontractor activities, reviewing proposals and defining performance specifications.Health, Safety & Facility Management:Ensure compliance with Health & Safety responsibilities, maintaining policies, procedures, and systems for injury prevention and occupational health.Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-maintained factory exterior and yard.Deploy Continuous Improvement strategies to enhance order processing controls and reduce DWIT errors.Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials for supply chain and machinery operations.Implement succession planning for all roles, including the Production Manager position.Ensure delivery of ISO-required standards across all production areas (seating, screens, warehouse).Education & Experience:Minimum 5 years' experience in supply chain or Production management.Understanding of Lean Manufacturing would be of benefit.Certifications & Licenses:First Aid CertificationHow do your skills match this job?Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as a production manager?How many years of people management experience do you have?Have you worked in a role which requires a sound understanding of OH&S/WHS?Do you have a current New Zealand F Endorsement (Forklift on Road Endorsement)?What's your expected annual base salary?To help fast track investigation, please include here any other relevant details that prompted you to report this job ad as fraudulent / misleading / discriminatory.
