We are pleased to offer either a development post for a newly qualified Systemic Practitioner, working initially at band 6 whilst developing the competencies required at band 7; or a qualified and experienced Systemic Practitioner at band 7.

Main duties of the jobWe are seeking to appoint someone with a caring, compassionate nature, who is innovative, creative, flexible and highly motivated.
You should be an excellent communicator and team player, with the successful applicant joining a dynamic multi-disciplinary team of professionals to provide assessment and treatment to children and adult service users and their families/carers.
The team includes a range of other psychological professionals, nurses, dietitians, Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Clinical Lead, and family therapists.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high quality systemic interventions to families, young people and adults as well as contributing to the broader aims of the service.
You will benefit from an enthusiastic and supportive peer group of existing Systemic Practitioners and a multi-disciplinary team across the service.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health, and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

Person SpecificationEducationProfessional qualification in mental health (RMN) or equivalent, such as Social Work or Occupational Therapy or social welfare discipline or agreed Association of Family Therapy (AFT) equivalent.Postgraduate training in Systemic Practice to enable the title of Systemic Practitioner - namely completion of either 'AFT approved' Intermediate Level Systemic Practice Training or CYP-IAPT in Systemic Family Practice.Registration with the appropriate regulatory body for core profession.KnowledgeSkills in the use of methods of Systemic Practice/family-based assessment, intervention, and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.High level of relationship and communication skills to work with clients, families, and/or professionals where the atmosphere might be both pressured and emotive.Well-developed skills in the ability to comprehend and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information in a manner appropriate to a range of settings and audiences, including complex emotive situations and those with impaired communication capacities.ExperienceSubstantial practice in relevant first profession.Previous experience of working as a Systemic Practitioner and embedding systemic skills in a clinical setting since finishing intermediate training, under the supervision of a suitably qualified Family Therapist.Experience of running groups, particularly with parents, adolescents, and children.Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
