Our Tax Disputes and Controversy team offers extensive experience in managing and resolving complex tax disputes and assisting our clients with managing tax risk and obtaining certainty.
The opportunity:

Our Tax Disputes and Controversy team are looking for a highly skilled and experienced tax professional, with at least 5+ years of tax experience, to play a crucial role in managing and resolving tax disputes, providing strategic advice, representing clients in negotiations with Inland Revenue and obtaining binding rulings for clients.

Day to day you will:

Manage Inland Revenue audits and tax disputes on behalf of KPMG clients.
Assist clients with obtaining certainty on tax positions including applying for binding rulings from Inland Revenue on behalf of KPMG clients.
Provide expert advice on tax dispute resolution strategies and risk management.
Represent clients in discussions and negotiations with tax authorities.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and their impact on clients.
Help junior team members develop through effective supervising, coaching, and mentoring.
What you'll bring to the team:

At least 5+ years of tax experience, preferably within a professional services firm, law firm or Inland Revenue.
Strong knowledge of New Zealand tax laws and regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving, research and analytical skills.
Collaborative and inclusive team player.
Client-focused and commercially aware.
Demonstrated leadership skills and effective coaching.
