So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.Job Summary:As Alfa Laval's new Mechanical Engineer, your tasks will be to define the item requirements for our Boiler, Burner, and GCU systems as well as finalizing the design of the products before handing over to manufacturing.
We are working with highly standardized products, but in the Marine Industry, the customers' requirements are ever-changing, and your job will be to update the mechanical parts to fit the project-specific system.
You will be the link between the project team and the factory and will give advice to both the Project Manager and Factory.About the jobSafety is a priority in all work, and you must ensure all activities are compliant.Responsible for making the project-specific design according to customer requirements.Responsible for ensuring the mechanical system is compliant and fit for purpose based on capacity, flow calculations, and strength calculations.Lead yourself to deliver your tasks to internal stakeholders on time.Keep in touch with related engineers in the global competence network.Be a part of a continuous improvement culture, always looking for smarter ways of working.Complete other tasks assigned by your direct manager.Who are you?Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, production technology, technical design, or other related areas.Good English skills, both oral and written.Familiar with mechanical design software, such as AutoCAD and Inventor.Familiar with reading and understanding P&I Diagrams.Familiar with either strength, flow, or thermal calculations.Familiar with pressurized applications such as boilers is a plus, but not mandatory.Tools, e.g., 5S, Six Sigma, Certified GB is a plus.Good cross-department communication skills.What's in it for you?We offer a challenging position in an open and friendly environment where we help each other to develop and create value.
