While many of the challenges and opportunities we face go beyond national boundaries, together we have the scale, influence, and capability to deliver for our customers, communities, and our people.Job DescriptionOur Finance Operations team are responsible for managing the financial transactions that flow in and out of Z and with one of our team heading off on their parental leave journey we are seeking the newest member of the Z whanauAs Kaiarahi Hokohoko Purchasing Lead you will support across Z with all things purchasing - upskilling our people, enhancing systems, supporting with Purchase Orders, translating business needs into the purchasing system and more.
The role is a mix of reactive and proactive support as well as financial tasks.This is a fixed term parental leave cover starting early/mid-May 2025 through to June 2026 including a handover period.You will have the opportunity toWork as the owner for all continuous improvements and change management associated with purchasing at ZSupport across the business to apply Z's preferred method of purchasing and ensure effective controls are in placeProvide training for new and existing Z'ers, upskilling our people in purchasing best practice and the ApprovalPlus systemForm strong working relationships with purchasing users and our AP team to streamline and optimise the purchasing processThis role is also responsible for ensuring Z's self-serve network cash reconciliations are processed, sites are set up correctly and our systems are operating at scaleQualificationsWhat you'll bring to ZExcellent relationship building skills and a service driven mindset, you will work across our business supporting a range of stakeholdersA bias for action, the ability to get things done both yourself and through others in a supportive and timely wayWorking knowledge of ApprovalPlus would be advantageous, this role is our A+ superuser at ZStrong problem-solving abilities, translating business needs into solutions within the confines of the ApprovalPlus tool and Z policiesA pro-active approach, a genuine love of continuous improvement and comfort with initiating changeSolid finance knowledge, you might currently lead an AP function, be early in your accountancy career or fancy a change from your current purchasing role – if this role feels like a fit we would love to hear from youThe ability to commit to a fixed term contractAnd of course, you'll be passionate about what matters to Z, embracing and living our values to help us deliver on our aspirations and broader commitment to Aotearoa New Zealand.Additional InformationWhat we can offer youA competitive remuneration package including enhanced employer contribution for KiwiSaverGenerous leave provisions including sick leaveThe balance of hybrid working, enjoy some of your week at home and some in our welcoming office spaceAccess to Z's Benefits & Recognition platform providing you access to retail discounts and cashbacks at over 150+ retailers in Aotearoa New Zealand that assist with everyday living expensesThe opportunity to contribute and be part of a supportive team that is here to make a differenceA chance to build your own capability through learning from some of the industry's most knowledgeable people who have a desire to share their insights along with access to upskilling opportunities and career development across the organisationTwo days a year to do Good in your Hood, though our volunteering scheme, a chance for you to help others in your community in a meaningful way to youThe base salary range for this role is $95,700 to $112,600 per annum, we also offer a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution.Why Z?Z has always been a proud Kiwi company.
