We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to support our growing customer base in the South Island based in Christchurch or the wider Canterbury region.

We serve a diverse range of process industries across New Zealand & Australia, including food, beverage & dairy, grain & seed, stock-feed, fertilizer, mining, FMCG & logistics.
Their equipment, consumables and services increase customers capability, efficiency and versatility aiming to increase production and up-time, reduce the need for manual labour and improve accuracy and presentation whilst reducing wastage costs.The Role:This role is based in Christchurch or the Canterbury region but involves servicing customers throughout the entire South Island.
The successful candidate must be comfortable with regular travel, including 1-2 overnight stays per week, depending on service schedules.
Some weeks will require Monday-Friday travel, returning home for the weekend before heading out for another full week.
Additionally, this role involves frequent visits to Aurora's Head Office in Hamilton every 1-2 months for training and team meetings, as well as potential travel to Australia to support installations, service work, and project execution.
Flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential, ensuring customers receive high-quality support and seamless service delivery across Aurora's expanding network.As a highly mechanically minded professional, you will be adept at troubleshooting, diagnostics, and servicing of older industrial systems as well as knowledgeable and interested in automated equipment.You will be tasked with performing scheduled servicing and breakdown support for packaging equipment, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and automation related faults.Whilst being onsite, you will be a natural communicator and have the ability to spot opportunities for new sales for Aurora products, consumables, and services.
Your insights from clients being the "eyes on the ground" are critical for the sales team to optimise revenue from each client.Ideally, we are seeking candidates from the packaging industry or related experience with similar automated equipment/mechatronics.
You will have experience working in a field service-based role or come from a mechanical and electrical background but ready to move from a workshop based role to a field based role.
