This role is accountable for providing assurance to the Chief Executive of Oranga Tamariki, that contracted care providers delivering services to children and young people in care, are meeting the requirements of the National Care Standards, and other regulations and related matters.
You will provide advice, leadership and expertise on practice quality to support the Manager Contract Monitoring and Compliance across a range of work and projects and to deliver on the Ministry's outcomes on the provision of quality practice.
You will have regional oversight of care, build and improve relationships between care partners and Oranga Tamariki, advocate for quality practice and clarity of roles and responsibilities, and support Enabling Communities and Investment staff and partners through change processes and to support capability development.
A high level of stakeholder engagement is critical in this role.
Key requirements of the role include: A working knowledge of social work practice and understanding of the national care standards, including experience in writing assessment reports and implementing change management plans.Experience in being able to identify organisational practice risks and take action to minimise their impact, and ensure strategies are in place to mitigate them.
As such also ensure risks are identified and escalated to the appropriate channels.Develop, maintain and build effective working relationships with key stakeholders and Oranga Tamariki staff, particularly regional staff such as Sites, Practice Leaders and other frontline staff.Have a natural ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation and make recommendations for improving current systems and procedures.Be someone who provides expert leadership on quality assurance and improvement methodology.Ensure the understanding of the quality and practice is informed by the voices and feedback of service users - tamariki and their whanau.
Work alongside partners to share learnings that will improve current practice.Support the manager in their leadership of the team by identifying opportunities to share leadership challenges and by becoming a natural source of advice and support for team members.Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Maori, and Pacific peoples' culture.Nou te rourou | What's in it for you Oranga Tamariki offers an impartial remuneration package, that offers progression annually for experience through tenure.
Annual remuneration for this position starts between $106,416 and $117,782 dependant on experience.
