Due to an internal member going on their OE, we're on the hunt for an up-and-coming superstar with truckloads of enthusiasm and positivity to join our team as a Graduate Packaging Technologist.
Reporting to the Senior Packaging Technologist, this permanent full-time role would be perfect if you're looking to explore a new career opportunity in packaging and keen to join the fun and energetic Innovation Team, based at our Manufacturing site in Papakura.At Griffin's Snacks, we're proud of our heritage and being New Zealand's largest snack food company, producing a large range of iconic and much-loved kiwi brands - many of which have been known and loved for generations.Although a qualification in food science or packaging would be an advantage, we are open to applicants without prior experience.
If you have the right attitude and excellent organizational skills, a strong desire to learn, and a keen interest in packaging, this is the ideal opportunity for you.We are open to receiving applications of:Technical Experience Outside of Packaging: Possesses a solid technical background in fields unrelated to packaging, bringing valuable skills and a unique perspective.Hands-On Operational Experience: Experienced in managing operations with a focus on process improvement, problem-solving, and implementation.Recent Graduate Eager to Explore Packaging: Enthusiastic about transitioning into the packaging industry, with a strong desire to apply academic knowledge and gain practical experience in this new field.We are committed to providing you with all the training and support you need to thrive and develop in this dynamic field.
No day will be the same in this hands-on role where you would be supporting our Packaging Team by supporting and championing packaging development initiatives and projects through key activities including innovation, new product development, cost reduction, sustainability initiatives, process, and quality improvement.What you'll be responsible for:Contributing to the achievement of business goals by providing cost efficient advice and packaging solutions and recommendations.With the support of your leader, you'd be identifying and leading packaging and sustainability projects, meeting timeframes and budgets required.Building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Proactively searching for alternative packaging materials and or equipment to deliver financial benefits to the business.Working closely with internal teams to provide technical support to help resolve customer inquiries, problems, and concerns.Alongside a true passion for all things packaging and innovation, you will also bring the following to the role…Organised and productive.High level of attention to detail.Genuine passion for all things packaging and manufacturingTertiary qualification in Science, Engineering, Technology, or similar endorsements (qualifications in Packaging Development or Materials would be an advantage but not necessary).Ideally, you will have had some experience working within a food manufacturing environment – if you don't have this but tick all the other boxes, we'd love to hear from youConfidence in Microsoft Office programmes i.e.
