We provide a range of inpatient and community services to tangata whaiora in the Waitaha Rohe (Canterbury district).The East Adult Community Psychiatric Service is the Community Treatment Team for Tangata Whaiora living in the Eastern area of Christchurch.
We offer a range of assessment, treatment, and support services to individuals currently struggling with acute episodes of, or severe and enduring mental health conditions and who require specialist care.
East is a special team full of passionate individuals who work hard and take care of each other.
The team is looking forward to welcoming a new Pukenga Atawhai.Pukenga Atawhai also supports other teams as needed and participates in an out-of-hours on-call roster.Our service's philosophy is whanaungatanga - acknowledging the centrality of whanau in our work and the lives of tangata whaiora.Awhina and manaaki our tangata whaiora and whanau.Connect and engage with tangata whaiora to understand their cultural requirements through assessments (Te Arotakenga - cultural assessments).Work alongside and guide our qualified health professionals to be culturally responsive.About YouTo be successful as a Pukenga Atawhai, your core strengths will include:A strong knowledge of Te Ao Maori (Te Reo Maori me ona Tikanga Maori) and the ability to apply these values when connecting with others.A natural ability to build and nurture relationships and work in a professional manner with others.High level of organisational skills and ability to be flexible.Reflective communication practices and a holistic view when caring for others.A NZ driver's license is essential.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the weaving of wellnesses.
