Red Stag Timber operates a modern state-of-the-art Sawmill in Rotorua to support the New Zealand building industry. With leading edge technology, the Company operates the country’s largest sawmill, and is a well-established and successful business.

We have an opportunity for a qualified Sawdoctor - January 2025 start.

Hours of work for this position are Nightshift Monday – Thursday, 6.00pm – 6.00am with an overtime rate of time and half for all hours worked over 40 hours per week and a night shift allowance payable for each complete week worked.

Ideal applicants will have:

1. 2-3 years experience in a sawshop
2. Sawdoctor L3 or L4 qualification
3. A history of reliability, along with a strong commitment to workplace safety
4. A high level of physical fitness and strength due to the nature of the work tasks
5. Be energetic with a ‘can-do’ attitude – strive for perfection

A short mechanical & mathematical aptitude test may be required as part of the recruitment process.

A pre-employment drug test, reference checks from 2 prior line managers and pre-employment medical applies.
