Are you committed to using economics to improve policy-making? Apply your economic skills to growing economic capability at the Treasury. You will have the opportunity to develop the Treasury's thinking on important long-term challenges facing New Zealand, while also supporting others to grow their economic capability. This is an exciting opportunity to work across New Zealand's economic and finance ministry on a breadth of issues. At Te Tai Ohanga The Treasury we're creating a better future for New Zealand and everyone who calls our amazing country home. We're the Government's economic and financial advisor, working hard to raise the standard of living for everyone in Aotearoa, now and in the future.
Our talented people bring their diverse backgrounds and experiences to tackling New Zealand's biggest and most inter-connected issues. Every day, they are influencing, advising, and supporting Ministers, Crown CEOs and Government decision-makers to shape our country's collective tomorrow.

This includes opportunities to understand policy priorities across the Treasury and to liaise with prominent international economists and other experts.Play a leadership role in developing and delivering training and other capability-building materials in public economics and the Living Standards Framework.Use your economics to provide evidence-driven insights to inform the Treasury's policy advice and public debate. This would include developing analysis and reports using the Treasury's Living Standards Framework Dashboard to support a broader understanding of progress in New Zealand across economic, social, and environmental indicators. The appointing remuneration range for this role is between $126,612 and $148,955.
You will have at least five years of experience working on policy analysis and advice. Your analytical skills are complemented by your ability to work well with others and to communicate complex ideas in a simple and engaging way. You will be intellectually curious and test existing thinking through constructive debate.
