This is a permanent, full-time role with weekly work hours range from 30 to 45. The successful candidate will be required to work 5 days per week, which may include Saturdays and Sundays. In return, we offer a supportive and friendly working environment, along with competitive pay rates of $30-$32 per hour.
 
Priority will be given to local NZ residents/citizens.
 
Key responsibilities
The service manager plays a crucial role at Orana Motor Inn & Restaurant, ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests throughout their stay. The tasks include but are not limited to:
 
Leadership & direction

Implementing rosters according to workforce plans and assigning staff to specific duties, ensuring timesheets are completed promptly
Recruiting, training and supervising staff to ensure they meet the company's requirements
Supervising staff in handling customer complaints or major incidents effectively
Keeping accurate records of discussions or correspondence with customers for complaints following ups
Developing and reviewing policies and procedures related to customer relations and services
Maintaining a safe and enjoyable work environment for staff

 
Customer services

Delivering high standards of service, meals and housekeeping to our customers
Communicating with the customers in a professional manner
Planning and organizing special functions
Ensuring all staff comply with that the Food Control Plan and liquor sale regulations 

 
Promotions and marketing

Contributing to the development and management of digital initiatives and content across web, social media and other digital marketing platforms
Communicating courteously with customers, whether  businesses or individual customers, via telephone, email, social media and in person
Liaising with customers, promoting and advertising our services to ensure customer retention and growth 
Evaluating market responses and setting prices for various services based on relevant factors, and formulating and implementing purchasing and marketing policies accordingly.

 
Health & Safety

Complying with the Safety Management System while working
Identifying and report hazards in the workplace and following all safety procedures
Ensure that equipment is safe and in proper working condition

 
Skills and qualifications:

At least 3 years of experience in a management role
Diploma or higher qualfication in Business, management, or hospitality
A current driver's license is an advantage
