We are looking for a proven leader who is eager to grow and strengthen their leadership, with potential aspirations of becoming a principal in the future. At St Joseph's, you’ll be leading passionate experienced teachers in a small, close-knit school where you can make a real difference in shaping the future of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  1. SENCO: Committed to equity and success for all students and can build relationships with students, parents, community, and agencies to foster a secure and nurturing environment that strengthens student wellbeing and engagement.
  2. Culturally responsive leader: Strong knowledge of research-based, evidence-driven pedagogical practices around Māori and Pasifika perspectives, pedagogy, and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  3. Curriculum and assessment: Possess strong expertise in the New Zealand Curriculum and assessment frameworks, with the ability to utilise and analyse data to inform decision-making, monitor student progress, and support curriculum development that promotes student learning.
  4. Professional learning & development: Drive staff development, curriculum design, and implementation of new initiatives. Provide mentorship and coaching to teachers and leaders to improve teacher capability.

Capabilities to maintain programmes and activities that reflect the special character of the school shall be a condition of appointment.

Start date would be from the beginning of 2025.
