This exciting opportunity will have you leading a team of health and safety practitioners to establish a cohesive and aligned practice. You will be working closely with the National Health and Safety Manager to support the implementation of the HEB health and safety strategy and will play a pivotal role in helping us fulfil our goal of making sure all our people get home safe and healthy. You will also lead several key H&S projects that deliver to our Health and Safety strategy.Our ideal candidate will possess several years' experience working in a construction health and safety environment, proven experience leading a team of H&S professionals distributed across multiple locations, and a strong understanding of health and safety legislation and principles, particularly critical control management. We need someone who has exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, the ability to communicate effectively across a range of audiences, and strong coaching and leadership capabilities.Your duties will include, but are not limited to:Leading, coaching, and developing the Health and Safety Advisory team to ensure there is cohesive and aligned practice to deliver the nationwide programme of inspections, monitoring, investigations and trainingProviding support to the operational management team to ensure effective delivery of the health and safety strategy and annual planSupporting your team to effectively lead incident investigations to ensure we gather organisational learning and implement improvements in a timely and effective mannerProactively building and developing effective relationships with managers, workers, suppliers and subcontractorsCollaborating with the National H&S Manager to ensure effectiveness and alignment of current health and safety strategy and work programmeLeading key health and safety projects and initiativesMonitoring, measuring and reporting on health and safety performanceDelivering training and communication to ensure successful and sustainable implementation of health and safety initiativesChampioning all HEB Construction health and safety procedures and requirements through active leadershipIn exchange, we offer a highly competitive compensation package with company vehicle, genuine opportunities for career advancement and development, and a workplace culture that values and recognizes dedication and contribution.You will also have access to other benefits such as:Life insurance from day one ($100,000)Medical insuranceBirthday leaveFuel and retailer discountsEmployer assistance programmeIncreased Kiwisaver employer contribution rates over tenure milestones for enrolled employeesIf you find that this resonates with your experience and skills, we encourage you to apply to join the team at HEB Construction.
