Auckland City, New Zealand Fisher & Paykel Appliances Full time

The Role
- Fisher & Paykel is an iconic New Zealand brand, a global company with a strong local heritage. Our origins inspire our culture of curiosity and passion to develop solutions designed around people - these are some of the core elements that make us unique. We are driven by our values of being trusted, sustainably minded, innovative, generous, and curious.

As a team we take a collaborative approach and have a working environment where all ideas are heard, evaluated, and tested against our leading goal - to be the world's most human-centred appliance brand.

The Opportunity
- We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Business Partner with a consultative and advisory approach and the influencing skills to win the hearts and minds of our people. Driving a culture where everyone has an innate sense of their responsibility takes a great deal of skill. We believe everybody is accountable for safety - individually and as a collective. Our primary aim is to keep people safe from harm and this includes everyone who works for us, with us, and anyone who may be affected by our activities.

Based at our East Tāmaki - Highbrook Design Centre you’ll report to the Global Health & Safety Manager and be part of a small, dedicated team. Responsible for Health and Safety across New Zealand, your stakeholders and customers include our Distribution, Engineering, Technology, Customer Experience, Experience Centre and Driver & Installation teams, not forgetting our office-based and mobile workforce.

There’s plenty of excitement and challenge in our work programme for the years ahead as we continue to embed our new H&S management system and optimise its value in our decision making and risk management, a new distribution warehouse at East Tamaki and an entirely new Auckland Head Office in Penrose. Our workplaces and worker profiles change all the time and we need you to help us stay ahead of all of it.

That's the role, so who are you?
- We are looking for a special person. You will be passionate about health and safety and have demonstrated success working in a complex and dynamic workplace. Key to success in this role is an ability to demonstrate success in influencing and driving the right behaviours across the business to ensure we meet our goals. You're well networked, proactive and passionate about ensuring people go home safely.

As an experienced H&S professional with at least 5 years relevant experience, we expect you'll have a strong technical knowledge of health, safety and ACC legislation and current best practices, experience in developing and conducting internal audits as well as supporting leaders with incident and injury management, to mention only a few. A level IV Health & Safety Certificate is desirable, but not essential.

What we offer
- This is a rare opportunity to move into an iconic large and complex global organisation headquartered in NZ. As part of the wider global People & Capability team, you’ll also be surrounded by supportive professionals working as partners to the business continuing to drive a culture of high performance.

Along with a competitive salary, flexible working, ongoing development, our leading Whanau/Family Leave policy and excellent growth and progression opportunities, as a valued member of our team you’ll enjoy generous discounts on Fisher & Paykel and Haier products, life & disability insurance, discounted medical cover, generous Kiwisaver, our subsidised staff café, and free car parking when you are on-site.
- We’ll start interviewing from 2 April.

Fisher & Paykel is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, or other characteristics protected by law.
