Play a critical role in shaping a new integrated intelligence-led approach to the safety camera system.Autonomy & responsibility with a supportive and collaborative team.Fixed term until end of June 2025.This is an exciting opportunity to join a team building the people and technology capabilities to operate a best practice safety camera system across our roading network.As Senior Business Analyst, you will be working in the Safety Camera domain focusing on implementing new processes and supporting technology to enable NZTA to manage the safety camera network.Responsibilities will include:Documenting the roles and responsibilities of who will carry out the different activities that enable the processes.Designing, developing, and implementing new business processes that support the operations of the system.Documenting new technology solutions implemented to support business processes.Working with the technical writers to develop the standard operating procedures and user guides required to support the business community to carry out the new or updated processes.Working with key business and programme stakeholders to embed new or changes to existing processes.We’re looking for someone who is a self-starter and comfortable working with minimal supervision, and will bring:Significant and proven experience in Business Analysis with advanced analytical skills and ability to evaluate and resolve highly complex issues.Strong experience of analysing existing business processes and identifying areas of change and/or improvement.Substantial experience in designing and implementing new processes aligning to new or existing operational policy and/or legislative requirements.Ability to translate complex business and customer needs into audience appropriate language.Excellent communication skills with a customer focus mindset.Strong experience building and maintaining relationships in a complex business and technology environment.Knowledge and experience in design thinking and co-design methodologies.Experience operating in an Agile environment and hybrid ways of working.You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.To view the position description, click here.As the lead regulator for land transport, our purpose is to ensure that the system is safe, efficient, effective, and operates in the public interest. Safety is a top priority for Waka Kotahi, and we, as Te Rōpu Waeture (the Regulatory Services group), aim to improve safety and reduce the risk of harm by being a firm and fair real-world regulator applying principles of good practice grounded in Te Ao Māori - Whakapono (Integrity), Manaakitanga (Caring for people), Whanaungatanga (Relationships), and Kotahitanga (Unity).The purpose of this group is to contribute to an effective, efficient, and safe land transport system in the public interest and to:Provide - oversight of the effectiveness of regulatory interventions on outcomes.Inform - relevant and responsive regulation by regular monitoring and review.Ensure - effective compliance monitoring and management processes of regulated parties to enable system access for people, devices, and networks, by risk targeted and cost-effective regulatory management of the land transport system.The role of the Regulatory Strategic Programmes team (the Team) is to establish and drive the delivery of strategic and operational improvements programmes that sit within the regulatory portfolio and provide strategic direction and leadership for Waka Kotahi in the delivery of agreed initiatives. The team will directly lead the programme and project delivery teams and be responsible for their overall delivery.
