We are currently seeking an Asset Manager to join our team in Rotorua. 
The role The Asset Manager is accountable for all assets within the Rotorua and Rotoiti/Rotoma reticulated sewage network, WWTP's (wastewater treatment plants) and pumpstations, and associated LTS/LDS (land treatment/land disposal systems).
TRILITY operates, maintains, and renews these assets on behalf of Rotorua lakes Council. 
As the Asset Manager, you are responsible for the asset standards of service, asset data and associated information/data systems. The delivery of efficient maintenance and renewal activities, asset reliability, performance reporting and life cycle costs. 
This position will contribute significantly to the overall operating efficiency and profitability of the contract.
In this role you will investigate proposed investment requirements and evaluate alternatives, development of concept designs, and be responsible for compiling the R&R programme. This role is responsible for the development and updating/reviewing of detailed Asset Management Plans for all of the managed assets. 
The Asset Manager regularly communicates with other members of the management team, draws from TRILITY's corporate Asset Management team for assistance and support, as well as other external parties involved in company projects, this will include the Client, Consultants, Regulatory organisations and community groups.
Responsibilities Core Asset Management Duties
Manage data associated with the delivery of WWTP and network growth, capacity, performance, and reliability. This will include working with and interfacing data between systems such as ESRI GIS, hydraulic model (ICM & IAM), SCADA, Infor (CMMS), SAP (ERP)Manage a proactive and reactive condition assessment program of the WWTP and network including planning, gaining approval and execution. May include technologies such as CCTV inspection, material sampling and capturing opportunistic maintenance dataManage the continual network inflow and infiltration benchmarking using SCADA data and undertake specific inflow and infiltration investigations using a variety of techniques for specific catchmentsUpdate the WWTP and network renewals plan and budget based on condition assessments, inflow and infiltration analysis, service history and other business inputsMaintain the Client's GIS of the wastewater network through the provision of information to the Client's GIS OfficersMaintain the hydraulic models including calibration, system performance and scenario reporting regarding growth and development proposalsAssist with the update of the WWTP and network asset management plan and long-term plan (LTP) and associated budgetsProvide ad hoc advice to internal and external stakeholders related to wastewater network capacityScoping and design of specific WWTP and network renewals projects and negotiation of annual budgets with renewals delivery subcontract partnerMaintain a knowledge of emerging technologies for WWTP and network renewal and condition assessment programsSafety, Quality and Environment
Ensure TRILITY systems for Safety, Quality and Environment are used and that all activities undertaken on TRILITY sites comply with these plans;Actively participate in and drive the continuous improvement of these systems;remain abreast of changes to standards and legislation, their impact to TRILITY and develop plans to ensure TRILITY remains compliant at all timesEnsure that appropriate risk assessment and JSEA's are developed for all work activities prior to commencement of work on that activity;Lead and/or participate in audit processes to ensure compliance with TRILITY plans;Leadership
Management of project managers and consultants for R&R and capex specific projectsWork with the Australian TRILITY Asset Manager to develop and review AM policies, procedures and documentation ensuring a consistent approach across all contracts.Lead your team by example while demonstrating leadership behaviours Conduct and document regular performance reviews with your direct reports;Provide honest and timely feedback to employees based on performance and behaviours in line with the company values;Manage and facilitate staff leave in line with the Company policy; andEnforce relevant Company policies and procedures where necessary.Policy
Ensure all activities form part of or are aligned to TRILITY's Asset Management policy, practices & contractual obligations;Provide advice, insights and suggestions to support the Operations Manager in the development of strategic goals and objectives which lead the company towards best practice;Identify and remain abreast of best practice asset maintenance techniques with application to water and wastewater treatment plants and network assets;Systems
Develop and implement Asset Management systems as required for this contract;Oversee the development and implementation of the AMIS for this contract, and provide training and coaching to personnel as required;Manage the utilisation of the asset management system and oversee utilisation of the AMIS, ensuring uniform and consistent use of the systems and that relevant maintenance history is recorded in the systems;Ensure financial systems are appropriately utilised by the maintenance team including procurement, payment, submission of invoices and the maintenance of accurate information;Manage the utilisation of the R&R delivery database and oversee the consistent use of the database by the Project managers and Asset data administrator, and that all relevant project delivery data is recorded.Reporting
Provide periodic reports on asset performance and maintenance performance to management as per contract requirementsProvide periodic reports on asset renewals, plant and network activities to management as per contract requirements.Budgets
In conjunction with the Network Planning Engineer and the Asset Engineer, prepare R&R and capital short term and whole of life budgets.Planning
Prepare and review detailed asset management plans for all managed assetsPrepare and specify capital replacement programsPrepare and specify R&R programsPlanning, development and optimisation of managed assets to ensure that all customers, stakeholder and statutory obligations are met and that any impact on related assets outside the contract area is taken into accountFinancial
Manage procurement processes and the use of contractors to ensure the best cost outcome for TRILITY;Review the effectiveness of the maintenance program for the contract from time to time to ensure that an optimal level of maintenance is being undertaken. Generate and review plans to improve facilities not compliant with TRILITY standards;Review and monitor R&R and R&M monthly financial reportsWhat we are looking for Tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline or trade qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering with relevant experience in a senior maintenance management roleKnowledge and experience in maintenance of assets associated with water and wastewater treatment plants and networks.Demonstrated management ability with well developed communication skills, report writing and financial appraisal skillsSound understanding of best practice maintenance management philosophy and practice, including ISO55001Strong customer focus Ability to make quick accurate assessments followed by decisive actionTechnical expertise in asset management and maintenance planning and their applicationGood planning and decision making abilityExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to build good working relationships at all levelsCommercial & financial business skillsGood influencing skills adapted to suit the situationSolutions orientated mind setWhy TRILITY?
