School Caretaker

About the role

Victoria Avenue School is looking for an experienced and dedicated School Caretaker to join our team. This is a full-time role based in Remuera, Auckland. As the School Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the school's facilities and ensuring the grounds are safe, clean and well-functioning for our students and staff.
What you'll be doing Conducting regular inspections of the school buildings, grounds and equipment to identify and address any maintenance or safety issuesPerforming general maintenance tasks, such as minor repairs, painting, gardening and cleaningEnsuring the school is secure by locking and unlocking the premises and activating alarmsProviding support for school events and activities, including setting up and packing away equipmentLiaising with external contractors and service providers as neededAdhering to all health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe environmentWhat we're looking for Proven experience as a caretaker, handyman or in a similar facilities maintenance roleStrong practical skills and the ability to carry out a variety of maintenance tasksKnowledge of health and safety regulations and best practicesExcellent problem-solving and time management skillsA friendly, reliable and proactive approach to your workA clean driving licence and the ability to operate light vehicles and machineryA police vet will be required on appointmentEnjoys working in a multi cultural environmentStart date January 2025 (by negotiation)What we offer
