Our Red Cross Shop in Hamilton East is small but mighty Largely clothing based, we are looking for someone who can bring their fashion flair and knowledge to create a warm and welcoming shopping experience for our customers. Alongside this, we are wanting someone who is confident to drive sales and meet targets with ease. It is fast-paced, so bring your energy and love for all things fashion to our unique boutique
In this role you will:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the shop, including presentation, stock-sorting, pricing and opening and closing procedures.
- Create a welcoming, stylish shopping experience for customers.
- Drive sales by engaging customers, identifying needs, and recommending products to meet targets.
- Promote and manage incoming donations to maintain an exceptional product range.
- Lead a team of Assistant Managers and Volunteers while maintaining shop rosters to ensure effective operations.
- Recruit, train and retain shop employees with the support of the Retail Regional Manager.
- Foster a positive team culture by providing training and development opportunities to enhance customer service and skills.
- Provide superior customer service and lead by example, maintaining professionalism and ensuring all employees and volunteers reflect the New Zealand Red Cross values.
- Provide monthly reports on shop performance, sales trends, donations, and volunteer activities to the Retail Regional Manager.
To be successful you will have:
- Demonstrated knowledge of retail operations, stock management, sales drivers, administration, banking and cash handling.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a management role, preferably in retail or a customer service-oriented role.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Enthusiasm for sustainable fashion and community impact coupled with demonstrated knowledge of clothing brands.
- Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to manage difficult situations and de-escalate conflicts effectively.
- Knowledge of ensuring all goods are priced within the Price Guidelines.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including at least one weekend day as required.
