Lead the strategic development of the nursing service in partnership with clinical teams and leadership in this leading primary care services provider.

About the role
The Regional Clinical Lead works with key stakeholders and the management team to lead and implement the strategic development of nursing and ensures high level clinical leadership for all nursing services (including accident and urgent medical care and GP provision). The role encompasses strategy, governance, quality improvement and professional leadership.

What you have to do

  • Strategy - identify trends and opportunities for practice growth, implement service delivery objectives, align people, systems and technology, lead key health initiatives in the region.
  • Governance - lead the work plan and report to regional management, promote nursing as centre of excellence, provide clinical leadership and advice to senior team, plan workforce development.
  • Quality - evaluate clinical practice, implement evidence based nursing practice and models of care, review clinical standards and protocols, facilitate clinical audits.
  • Leadership - motivate, guide and empower the nursing teams, recruit, develop and manage the performance of staff, promote a positive, progressive work environment.

Skills & Experience

  • Current registration as a NZRN with a current NZNC practising certificate.
  • Solid leadership and management capability in primary care across multi-sites.
  • Experience in clinical teaching and programme development.
  • Skilled in practice assessment and appraisals.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement processes and principles.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident team player, tenacious and resilient with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
