As we continue to grow and expand, we are looking for a talented and driven Production Manager to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who is passionate about boat manufacturing, optimizing production processes, and delivering excellence.
Role Overview
As the Production Manager , you will oversee all aspects of the boat manufacturing process, from planning and scheduling to ensuring the highest quality standards are met. You will lead a skilled team of production workers, monitor inventory, maintain production timelines, and collaborate with the design and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day production activities, ensuring boats are built on time and to specification.
- Oversee the coordination of resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel, to meet production goals.
- Monitor production performance, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and implementing continuous improvement processes.
- Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
- Work closely with the design and engineering teams to address any design or technical challenges during the build process.
- Manage quality control procedures to ensure all boats meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and safety.
- Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and best practices.
- Track and report on production metrics, including productivity, cost control, and product quality.
- Train, mentor, and motivate a team of production workers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Manage inventory levels, working with the procurement team to ensure the availability of materials for production without overstocking.
- Handle troubleshooting and problem-solving during the production process to maintain workflow efficiency.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar leadership role in a manufacturing environment (boat building experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of boat production processes, quality control, and supply chain management.
- Experience managing teams, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse group of workers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in production management software and tools (ERP systems, scheduling tools, etc.).
- CAD drawing ability an advantage.
- A passion for boats, craftsmanship, and the marine industry.
