Wellington City, New Zealand Scots College Full time

Working at Scots College means you will be part of a leading, independent, co-educational school. We have a team of highly qualified staff who genuinely care about supporting each other and who are committed to providing a top quality education experience for our students.

As part of a recent independent review, staff and students at Scots College were asked by an external consultant how they would describe the current culture and feel of Scots College. The most common responses are listed below.

**_Welcoming, friendly, inclusive, proud traditions, family feel, dynamic, happy, lots of opportunities, caring, comfortable, all round education, holistic, explorative, creative, safe physically and emotionally, diverse, culture of self
- improvement, progressive, student led initiatives, empathetic, supportive, personalised, high standards expected, adults know you, unified, connected, respectful, wrap around care._**

We are proud of the report findings, which are testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire College Staff. They are also a strong indicator of what it means to work here.

Scots College prides itself on high quality teaching and building all-round character, but it takes a whole village to deliver an exceptional educational experience. We also have a large team of operational and administration staff who work behind the scenes and are an integral part of the team. This includes IT, marketing, finance, a health centre, and property and catering staff.

**Yachting Academy - Boat Maintenance Person (Part Time)**:
We are seeking an appropriately experienced person with a keen interest in boat maintenance to join our Tup Radford Intercollegiate Yachting Academy (TRIYA) team. The successful applicant will carry out the work necessary to maintain the fleet of 420s based at Evans Bay.

Ideally, this could suit someone living in the general area who has handy-person skills and a knowledge of sailing and small yachts. We anticipate 10-15 hours per week would cover this.

**With a national and international reputation for excellence, Scots College is a world-class independent school with a strong Presbyterian Heritage. It is a fully co-education, IB World School in the eastern suburbs of Wellington, New Zealand, and comprises three schools in one: Junior (Years 1-6), Middle (Years 7-10), and Senior (Years 11-13). We provide our students with an excellent and holistic education within a vibrant learning environment with the aim of allowing them to contribute as global citizens who think creatively, reason critically, communicate effectively, and develop the necessary skills to learn. For life.**

This role may suit a retired or semi-retired person, or someone looking for a small income or a top-up. It is, however, important that they have the right experience and knowledge in regards to the maintenance of our boats, and the use of machinery/tools, as well as be able work safely in a moderately hazardous environment.
- suitably experienced working with small sail boats to keep them in safe, fully operational condition
- appropriately experienced with workshop equipment, tools and machinery
- practically minded and able to think outside the square
- flexible in relation to working hours
- able to demonstrate an appropriate understanding of and commitment to health and safety requirements
- willing and able to assist with the order and tidiness of the boat workshop
