What we offer:

Full-time permanent roles - 30 minimum guaranteed work hour per week  

The rate of pay or salary: $29.66 /hr - $32.00 /hr before tax depending on backgrounds and experience

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Chef De Partie to join our team and help meet the high demand at our cafe  by delivering exceptional dishes that cater to our guestsâ  tastes. We seek the highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and is passionate about Kiwi favorites. Ideal candidates should have solid expertise in Western cuisine, the adaptability to work on the hotline, and the flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.

Key Task & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to the recipes and standards of Winona Forever Kitchen.
  • Handle high quality ingredients with the best culinary knowledge in preparation and cooking.
  • Coordinate with other Chef to ensure timely preparation and delivery of dishes.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient operation of the section during service times.
  • Maintain clear communication to ensure a smooth workflow, a positive work environment, and effective solutions to any issues or challenges.
  • Quality and Hygiene Control
  • Inventory and Ordering
  • Keep your work areas, equipment, and the kitchen consistently organized, sanitized, and spotless.
  • Uphold the best endeavour during your work hour
  • Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins

Requirements and skills :

  • Diploma Level 5 qualification or higher in Culinary Arts or Cookery, and  
  • A minimum of 1 year   of cooking experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the role of Chef de Partie.
  • Be able to work confidently and independently 
  • Good cooperation and communication within the team environment
  • The ability to perform under extreme pressure
  • Knowledge of prevailing regulations on Hygiene
  • Available to work rostered shifts (between 6AM and 4P M, Monday to Sunday), particularly during early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
  • Having your own vehicle and a full New Zealand driverâs license is advantageous but not essential. You should be prepared to temporarily travel to our other cafes in Auckland to address staff shortages. Please note that free parking is limited, with an option for $20 per day if needed.
