About Lote Tree Trust Lote Tree Trust is a charitable trust dedicated to fostering the spiritual, educational, and social growth of the Muslim community in New Zealand.
The Trust is actively delivering community-based services, including Islamic education, the New Zealand Zakat Foundation, and the development of faith-aligned schooling pathways such as the Dar al Quran Academy.
The Trust aims to build a supportive, faith-based environment that nurtures academic and spiritual growth for New Zealand Muslims.
Position Overview We are seeking Expressions of Interest for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position at Lote Tree Trust.
The CEO will be responsible for leading the organisation's overall strategy, growth, and operational management.
As the CEO, you will drive the implementation of the Trust's vision and strategic objectives, oversee the expansion of its initiatives, and ensure the Trust's long-term financial and operational sustainability.
Key Responsibilities Leadership and Strategy : Provide visionary leadership to the Trust, driving the development and execution of its strategic plan and ensuring alignment with its mission and values.
Lead the planning, development, and implementation of new initiatives, including establishing and expanding the Dar al Quran Academy.
Operational Oversight : Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring effective management of programmes, schools, and other initiatives under the Trust's portfolio.
Work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure high educational and operational excellence standards.
Financial Management : Oversee the Trust's financial health, including budgeting, financial planning, fundraising, and ensuring sustainable revenue streams.
Lead fundraising initiatives and build relationships with key donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
Governance and Compliance : Work with the Board of Trustees to ensure the Trust's operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Regularly report to the Board on the organisation's performance, financial health, and strategic direction.
Community Engagement and Public Relations : Serve as the primary representative and spokesperson of Lote Tree Trust, building strong relationships with the Muslim community, government bodies, and other stakeholders.
Promote the Trust's vision and values and foster engagement with the broader community to support its initiatives.
Staff Development and Organisational Growth : Lead the recruitment, development, and retention of key staff, fostering a positive organisational culture that reflects the Trust's values.
Ensure staff receive ongoing professional development and are empowered to deliver on the Trust's mission.
Expansion and Sustainability : Oversee the expansion of the Dar al Quran Academy and the establishment of new community hubs across New Zealand.
Ensure the long-term sustainability of the Trust's programmes through strategic partnerships, funding, and resource allocation.
Qualifications and Experience Educational Background : A relevant University qualification Leadership Experience : Experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within the education or nonprofit sectors.
Proven track record of leading and growing an organisation, with experience in strategic planning, financial management, and team leadership.
Skills : Strong understanding of Islamic education and values, passionate about supporting the Muslim community.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Experience in fundraising, donor relations, and financial oversight.
