Do you want to work in an area filled with pristine beaches, great fishing spots, and friendly communities?
Have you considered relocating to the Coromandel Peninsula?
The Principal Project Manager (Waters) is a key member of the team making a positive impact on the district's future. The role includes design, consultation, procurement, and managing the construction resources for what will likely be the district's most complex civil infrastructure projects.
About the roleThis role will provide functional team leadership to our project managers who primarily deliver Waters related projects. You will support the Programme Manager with the pastoral care of those same project managers.
You will have 10+ years' experience as a civil engineer successfully delivering infrastructure projects, who is also keen to pass on your expertise and knowledge to less experienced project managers. If this sounds like you, then this role may well be a good fit
Other key responsibilities include:
- Technical oversight of current Waters based projects being delivered through the Project Delivery team.
- Project planning and delivery aligned to our project management framework.
- Procurement of resources through both design and construction phases.
- Financial management throughout the project life to approved budgets.
- Community and key stakeholder engagement.
We are looking for a suitably qualified chartered civil engineer who has experience in acting as engineer to the contract.
Ideally, you will also have some relevant project management training/qualifications and demonstrable experience in successful project delivery. You should also have:
- Current, Full driving licence.
- In-depth knowledge of the Resource Management and Public Works Acts.
- Previous experience in community consultation in NZ including iwi consultation.
- Previous experience in the Project Management of community-based projects in NZ.
- Robust knowledge of the Local Government environment in NZ and of the Local Government Act.
If you are considering a sea change, we encourage you to apply. Our district is filled with pristine beaches, great fishing spots, and friendly communities - and we are only 90 minutes from big cities - Auckland, Tauranga, and Hamilton.
Some of the staff benefits we offer are:
- Relocation subsidy.
- Medical insurance, Life insurance, and income protection.
- Sick leave on commencement of employment.
- Flexible work arrangements and a family-friendly work environment.
- Access to wellbeing resources and workplace support.
The right to work in New Zealand and a current, full drivers' licence is mandatory.
Closing date for applications is 8pm, Sunday 24 November 2024.
