About the opportunity | Te whai waahi

As an Environmental Compliance Lead, you’ll take on a varied, exciting role with plenty of exposure to Fonterra’s operations. Taking accountability for supporting the maintenance and improvement of the national Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Framework and integrating elements of it into other Fonterra global systems.

You will be reporting to the National Environmental Manager and will work across many areas of the co-op.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the development of new EMS documentation.
  • Proactively monitor compliance through the Environmental Data Management System and support monitoring improvements.
  • Develop, write and review environmental reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide targeted support on environmental compliance and environmental sustainability risks for site Environmental Managers and Advisors.

This role will ideally be based in our Auckland, Hamilton or Christchurch office.

Key Success Enablers:

  • 5 years’ experience in environmental roles.
  • Tertiary qualification in science, environmental management or equivalent.
  • Sound understanding of environmental management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with environmental risk identification and control.
  • Strong communication skills, allowing you to communicate up and down the business.
