Mo te turanga | About the role An exciting new opportunity has become available to work as an Addictions Peer Support Worker as part of our new Rotorua based Opioid Treatment Service. The roles present a real opportunity to make a positive difference. At Te Whatu Ora Lakes we are proud to support people to live full lives within their communities; hopeful and connected to what matters to them the most.
Our kai mahi (staff) all share a common goal of supporting tangata whai ora to live their best lives as independently as possible in the community. Lakes Opioid Treatment Service (LOTS) has a strong therapeutic approach and works in close partnership with the Lakes community addiction providers.
Part-time (up to 20 hours per week)Working business hours, Monday – Friday from 8am to 4:30pmPossibly participate in an on-call roster after hours and weekendsAs Addictions Peer Support Worker you may be:
Supporting people with their recovery in their own homeConnecting or reconnecting them with their whanau and natural supportsAccompanying people through their whakapapa journeyInspiring hope and recovery from addictionsEmpowering people to do the things they love, as independently as possibleSupporting people with budgeting or other skills to help manage the cost of living crisisAttending appointments and advocating for peopleWe are looking for someone who has progressed to recovery through their own mental health and addictions journey and is able to support others struggling with their own addictions journey. If that's you, come join us in empowering tangata whai ora (clients) towards recovery & wellbeing goals through community mobile care & support services. To be successful in this role, you will ideally have the following:
