He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
We are seeking Community Support Workers to join our passionate and committed Adult Community Mental Health and Addiction team in Whakatāne.
In this role you will be supporting a multi-disciplinary team of Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, NASC Administration Team and Support Staff whose focus is the delivery of high-quality care to the growing population in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
Your primary purpose will be to support Tangata Whaiora/clients by providing recovery focused support work interventions. Under the direction of a Registered Health professional, you will be engaging with Tangata Whaiora and whānau to assist in the delivery of the treatment plan and access to appropriate services, resources and to support enablement, independence and Whaiora to move to a state of Toi Ora.
This role may suit a person who is currently training in or already working in the social or health services fields in a support role. These are permanent full-time positions each working 1.0 FTE (40 hours a week).

We are looking for a team player who is positive, passionate, and committed to excellence. The ability to work as an effective team member and demonstrate strong communication is essential to this position.
Ideally all applicants will have a Level 4 Support Worker certificate or willingness to commence study towards this in the first 6 months of employment. It would be preferably that you have experience working in a mental health setting however we are also keen to hear from Support Workers who are interested in seeking a career in mental health.
